George Clinton endorsed me tonight! You might know him from his bands Parliament and Funkadelic, also known as P-Funk. 
I have known him for years and was glad to attend his concert at the House of Blues.
As I told the Houston Chronicle, We have a serious campaign to reach people who have never been reached before and that's what this is all about.

Leaders from the Latino community gathered at the campaign headquarters on Monday to brainstorm ideas on building strong grassroots support for Peter Brown
About thirty prominent Latinos – community activists, law enforcement officials, business leaders, and educators were present for the discussion.
Peter Brown listened attentively to their ideas and feedback on a broad range of issues including education, flood control, strengthening the economy.
The group was particularly interested in hearing Peter’s ideas to address the lack of coordination between different policing forces.  Peter has traveled throughout the country to talk police chiefs and learn about the latest techniques working on the ground in urban areas.

Councilmember Peter Brown Talks Disaster Preparedness With Community Leaders

Emphasizing flooding risks and steps Houston needs to take to prepare the electrical grid for the next big storm, Councilmember Peter Brown addressed community members and leaders as part of an event to raise awareness of disaster preparedness efforts in the City.

"We're talking about how to make this process better and how to solve problems that weren't solved after Ike. We've got to take measures to cut flooding down and to improve the electric grid," said Councilmember Peter Brown.

He joined Houston City Councilmember Jarvis Johnson, Texas State Representative Sylvester Turner, ministers, and other civic leaders in encouraging citizens, as well as government, to be better prepared for the next disaster.

Councilmember Peter Brown Tours the Methodist Hospital

Councilmember Peter Brown participated in the Leadership Grand Rounds hosted by the Methodist Hospital today. 

He met with senior residents, faculty members, and visiting professors in various departments to learn about the latest medical technologies and the Methodist Hospital’s research projects. 

Peter spoke researchers at the Methodist Research Institute to get their views on the relationship between the Medical Center and the City of Houston. Specifically, he asked for their ideas on how the City and the medical community can work together to attract the best minds to the Houston area.
