Houston Ministers Support Peter Brown
July 21, 2009
We had a great turnout at our Ministers for Peter Brown breakfast this morning. A lot of committed and enthusiastic community and religious leaders turned out to show their support for Peter and his vision of an even better Houston. The event built on the earlier endorsement of Peter’s candidacy by more than 100 local ministers and showed the broad appeal and growing strength of the campaign.

A great turnout for the ministers breakfast!

Pastor D.Z. Cofield addresses attendees of the Ministers Breakfast
Cofield praised Peter, saying “He’s a person who hears, he’s a person who listens, he’s a person who builds consensus. He’s a person who says we don’t need to do good for one group in the city at the expense of another.” Peter, he said, would do what is in the best interests of Houston, rather than trying to further his own political ambitions.

Peter speaks to supporters at Ministers Breakfast
Dixon called Peter Brown “the kind of man, the kind of person, the kind of human being that I believe should be the next mayor of this city.”
“The only way you really know a person is by their track record,” said Dixon. “And I know Peter is the leader Houston needs.”

Rev. William Lawson introduces Peter at the Ministers Breakfast
Peter was introduced by Reverend William Lawson, who said that he supported Peter because of his long record of leadership. “Peter stands on his convictions,” said Lawson. “I know he’s the right man to be Houston’s next mayor.”

Folks from all around the city showed up to show their support for Peter. We had a great time, with good food and a good group of attendees. Thanks to everyone who attended!
